The quality of a peer-reviewed journal depends on the quality of authors as well as on that of reviewers and editors. Geophysics is in the privileged position of having a team of some 60 Associate and Assistant editors who spend a lot of time and effort editing the several hundreds of papers that are yearly submitted for publication. Associate and Assistant editors make their recommendations based on reports from expert reviewers as well as on their own knowledge and expertise. The work of reviewers and editors is entirely voluntary, often anonymous, and always highly appreciated. The following is an overview of some reviewers and associate editors who, in the eyes of the members of the editorial team, deserve special recognition.
